We are Slowly Dying
In stark contrast of this installation, “We Are Slowly Dying” juxtaposes opulence against the harsh reality faced by Gaza’s children. The golden ornate plate and embellished glass symbolize wealth and excess, blinding us to the desolation that millions endure daily—a mere clump of grass and a glass of polluted water. This visual metaphor invites contemplation: How can dining be a luxury while survival remains a struggle? Taken from a newspaper headline, it’s more than a statement; it’s an urgent plea for empathy, action, and awareness—the bitter truth behind our feasts
This installation was exhibited at the ‘River Two Seas’ Exhibition organised by Amana Creative Collecting in May 2024
